    We need volunteers to help plan the details from room setup, decorating, refreshments, games, contests, judges, music, to room take down. If you have ideas, suggestions or items to donate, please contact the Recreation Committee.

  • FALL Girls Softball Clinic - Fridays at MAPS field.Girls Softball
    Fee: $20 

     

    Resident girls ages 7-10 are eligible to participate in the Softball Clinic to improve their softball skills, knowledge and ability to execute conducted in a relaxed, fun environment that allows the participants to learn.    

     


  • FALL T-Ball and Coach Pitch Registration - Saturdays at MAPS FieldTee Ball and Coach Pitch
    Fee: $20
    Resident boys and girls ages 4 through 6 years old (5 by October 1st) are eligible to participate in the T-Ball Clinic.

    Resident boys ages 7-8 (and six year olds that have played T-Ball before) are eligible to participate in the Coach-Pitch Clinic. (Girls participate in the Soft Ball Program).

    Fees per child: Clinic $25 / League $50

    Mount Arlington resident boys and girls ages 4 to 17 years old are eligible to participate in either the Fall Soccer League or the Fall Soccer Clinic. Clinic is open to ages 4 and 5 years old only. League players are 6 to 17 years old (must be six by October 1st, 2008).

    If you have any questions, or are interested in coaching or being a referee please contact the Recreation Committee.

    Open to Mount Arlington Residents age 27 years or older, male or female, who would like to come out and enjoy a friendly game of softball. Players should have a softball glove, bats are optional.
  • Please remember that smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited at all Green Acres parks.

  • Summer 2008 Tennis Registration - Saturday July 19th - 10 AM to 11:30 AM
    Fee: $165
    Registration dates have been announced for the Summer 2008 Tennis Clinic.
    Children ages 7—13 are invited to participate in this 3 hour clinic. Class is geared toward establishing a sound technical foundation of the basic grips, strokes and footwork with an introduction to some competitive games in a
    fun filled environment.

    When: Monday—Thursday, July 28, 29, 30, 31 (Rain date: Friday August 1st.)
    Where: Mt. Arlington Tennis Courts
    Time: 10:00am—1:00pm

    Summer Adult Volleyball Nights - starting July 9th
    Fee: $15
    Mount Arlington Residents age 27 years or older with an interest, ability or desire to play volleyball. No skill level is required! Come to the beach for a pick up game! Please remember that smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

  • Fourth of July Fireworks Festivities - Thursday July 3rd, 2008 - 7 PM to 9 PM
    Come join us at the Beach for a Family Night of Carnival Games for the kids.
    Dino digging, leap frog, bean bag toss; just to name of few of the games that will be available for children of all ages.  Then sit back and enjoy a great view of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club Fireworks Presentation.

    At last there’s a camp exclusively set up to meet the needs of the youngster whose interest is sports - all kinds of sports. The USSI Multi-Sport program is the ONLY Summer Camp Program dedicated to the truly sports-minded youngster.  There are no arts or crafts here, just a total emphasis on sports and fun activities.  Every youngster takes part in each sport. There's no sideline sitting.  Most children never get the opportunity to play all these sports at one location, but at the USSI Multi-Sport camp they do...everyday.  Our campers enjoy a stimulating combination of athletic and educational activities. Our focus is not only on exposure to new activities and games but also on encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork and most of all fun.

    Fee: Ages 3-5 $90
    A great way to introduce children aged 3 to 5 to the sports of soccer, basketball, softball hockey and Lacrosse.  Sessions take place in a safe structured environment and sports are played through a series of games and activities designed to ensure learning and most importantly fun, fun, fun.  No previous experience is required in any of the sports to participate.  All the sports promote hand-eye co-ordination, motor skills, group participation and communication skills.

    The USSI Volleyball clinic is for players from novice to intermediate level.  Participants will receive coaching and instruction in all volleyball fundamentals and some tactical areas.  No matter what skill level the child is at, they will walk away from this camp more confident in their individual skill base. Development is emphasized in the following areas: hitting, spiking, setting, serving, team attack and defense.

    US Sports InstituteMount Arlington Recreation Committee is happy to announce the addition of the US Sports Institute Summer Camp Program:

    USSI offers boys and girls of all ages and abilities the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports, rather than one specific sport. The multi-sport camps provide campers with a fun-packed and enjoyable time in an environment where they can not only develop a wider range of
    sporting skills but also develop teamwork and interpersonal skills.

    Sport for All - Lessons for Life:
    USSI camps are open to boys and girls
    of all ability levels, ages 3-14.

    Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and get ready for movie night under the stars. Family Fun Night!
    Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All donations and proceeds from the concession stand help fund future recreational activities.

  • Memorial Day Parade - Monday May 26th, 2008 @ 11 AM
  • Mount Arlington Recreation Committee is planning
    the Annual Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony.

    The Parade route begins at Mount Arlington Public School on Kadel Drive:

  • Travels North on Howard Boulevard
  • Left onto Altenbrand Avenue
  • Left onto North Glen Avenue ending at Memorial Park.
  • There will be a Ceremony at Memorial Park after the parade to Honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 


    The Lake Hopatcong Elks #782 will be having their annual Memorial Day Picnic located at:
    201 Howard Blvd,
    Mount Arlington, NJ 07856,
    FREE Hot Dogs and Refreshments compliments of Davey's Dogs, Borough of Mount Arlington, and the Elks Lodge.

  • Arts and Crafts Day - Saturday April 5th, 2008 - 1 PM to 3 PM
    First Arts and Crafts Day Event Fun for ages 3 to 10! Craft materials and snacks are included with your registration.
    Please bring your own smock or old T-Shirt! There will only be one session for all age groups.
    There will be the Foam Ball Fish kit for the younger age group of 3-4 year olds. The 5-6 year olds will have fun with the Face Mask Painting Kit.  The 7-8 year old and the 9-10 year old groups will decorate their own Insulated Canvas Lunch Box, since the original items are no longer available from the manufacturer.

  • Spring 2008 Soccer Opening Game, Saturday April 12th, 2008
    Please visit the new website for the: Mount Arlington Soccer League.
    Providing both spring and fall recreation soccer to our town residents for many years.
    The goal of the league is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. The league facilitates the development of strength and character in every child that participates. Participation in the league is open to all boys and girls ages 4 - 17 years old. The Mount Arlington Soccer League has been a member of the Rockaway Valley Soccer League for over 25 years.
  • Coaches Rutgers Safety Course
    If you do not currently hold a Rutgers Safety Card and wish to coach, you must attend a Rutgers Safety Course.  Please bring a check made payable to MARA for $25.50 to cover the course materials.  After successfully coaching a Mount Arlington Season, the payment is refunded to you.  The next course has been scheduled for:
